Sharmen May Gowens, YWCA of Greater Atlanta’s mission-driven CEO, is committed to “eliminating racism and empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.” After serving as interim CEO for one year from 2012-to 2013, she accepted the call as CEO in 2015.
She is committed to supporting and enriching our community. She currently serves on the Board of the Atlanta Metropolitan College Foundation; previous board affiliations include YWCA of Greater Atlanta, the Atlanta Business League, and the Better Business Bureau.
